You might have a blow head gasket, check your coolet and see if it's all gone or low. And also your oil, see if it's milkly. I hope I'm wrong though, cause that's a big pain to fix.

What kind of shape is your ignition in? have you checked for a strong spark?

well keep a eye on it, when I blew a head gasket it was doing the same thing that you have wrote. Sounded like a cam(miss), white smoke, and fuel smell. My oil didn't get milky until a few days later, after draining the oil pan(looked like yahoo)also loss of power. It didn't smoke to bad, I didn't notice it till one day sitting at a light. It was smoking light, not like crazy just alittle bit, But I was getting low on coolet. But also check out, your plugs that might be why your car sounds like a cam, a miss will cause that.

one more thing if one of your plugs is fouled, that would also cause loss of power, and your car to bog down. Hopefully that's just your prob but it still sounds like a blown head gasket.

I had something similair happen to me. The car would bog, smoke, and smell like gas under 1/4 throttle or more. Turned out my cats were plugged. I managed to figure it out by taking a hammer and hitting the cats acouple times. The car would act fine for about a mile or so, then it would plug back up again and bog again.

The white smoke could be an intake manifold leak too right? I had that problem but without the gas smell or the missing.

Seems like the basics are missing here...

When's the last time you did a tune up on the car?

Have you checked the plugs? Spark plug wires? Cap? Rotor?

Once you've gone through those, what about the PCV valve? Any hoses cracked or messed up causing vacuum leaks?

If TPI, DEFINITELY check for a leaking / stuck open injector, it will cause ALOT of problems...

I'd do that before I started tearing the engine apart. If the oil does NOT have coolant in it, and the oil cap doesn't have white crud ( water condensation ) underneath, I'd look elsewhere....

If you think it might be a head gasket...are you losing coolant and can't find a leak?

If in doubt, run a pressure test on the cooling system. You can also get a test done to detect exhaust gas in the coolant....
