I would not expect the Scat & Eagle cranks to hold up long against what you describe. Look into Callies and Lunati, at least for cranks.

Friend of mine is running 9.40s at 144 with 12lbs of boost.
He's running eagle crank and rods. So I've got to say they must be decent. I don't have a doubt that callis and cola and such are better cranks, but I was very impressed with the eagle stuff I've seen around here.

I would not recommend eagle products for that application. I work at a machine shop and the dirt track racers that come in there have nothing but junk after one season with Eagle and they are not even close to 1000 hp.

He's on his second or third season of running 10's, then this season ran a 9.40. Next season he'll probably be in high 8's so I guess we'll see how it holds up.
I'm curious on how it'll hold up as well.

I have been running the same Eagle 4340 crank & 6" 4340 rods for two years now. I have melted (lean) two sets of JE pistons, overboosted and lifted the heads twice, and the Eagle parts are unblemished. I have 580+ HP & 620+ lb. ft at the wheels-looking for 750 at the wheels. I'll post if something breaks.
Oh yeah- I run it on road courses-20 minutes at a time.

hi
thanks for your input, it seems that everyone that I have asked it has been a 50/50 leading me to believe that there products are as of that 50/50, you dont know what your going to get.
Well heres a different question well all know that there are ton more ford products available in the aftermarket than that for a chevy " it follows the money", do you think that the eagle products are made better for the ford guys or are they just getting lucky. From what I have also noticed is that there products seem to live in the ford enviorment vs the chev. The last article I ve read was John Spetters stang running eagle rods @ 1600hp under boosted conditiions 7:80 et 1/4 @ 180mph.
any takers?

I don't know if they are better for Fords or not but I have a friend who runs Eagle rods and pistons in a 408 windsor motor with 15-20lbs boost pressure running 8s in the 1/4. This combo has been together for about 1 yr, for what its worth.

scat is better than eagle by a slim margin, for cranks i'd go cola and callies, the h-beam eagle rods are supposed to be pretty good from eagle, but don't think that they're good to 1000hp just because thats what they're rated at, stock profiled and balanced rods from eagle are rated to 500hp+ and i don't know many people that'd expect stock rods to hold up for long at those levels
