Heads up on Stealth Ram with LPE 58mm TB
Just a quick note on using an LPE 58mm TB on a Stealth Ram...the TB cable arm hits the 90* fuel fitting. As a result the throttle blades don't rest on the throttle stop screw.
Anyone run this particular setup and ran into this problem? What did you do to fix it? It seems the easiest way would be to gring the inner cable guide for clearance.
Also I'm pretty sure this only applies to the LPE 89-92 TBs as the 85-88 TBs use a different method to attach the throttle cable but I'm not positive it'll clear.

Oh yeah, some pics might help. You can see where it's not resting on the throttle stop because of the arm hitting the fuel fitting.

That throttle bracket doesn't look like the one on my 58MM TB, maybe thats a universal one for LT1 and such? If you aren't using that part of the throttle cable bracket, sure grind it, may want to check to see if they make a replacement bracket that you can swap out.

Seems like a safe enough idea to try... I would grind in stages and my attempts would be extremely (EXTREMELY) conservative... however if you are careful I think you have the right idea to fix this annoyance.

It appears that you have the late style throttle linkage with the "arc" I had no problems with my lingenfelter 58mm tb clearing the fitting, but it is the old-style tpi linkage.

Cool then, I'll go ahead and carefully grind it there. I think it'll be okay as long as I don't go overboard. Thanks...
My Holley 58mm TB (late style) has the same problem. You'd have the same problem with even a Holley 58mm TB (as I did). Just an out of the blue guess, but Holley did design this whole system around a pre-87 setup, and added the 87-up stuff as an afterthought. I'm sure the throttle cable cam interference issue is just another artifact of that.
I was able to get it to clear by loosening the plenum bolts and tweaking the plenum slightly to bring the TB away from the fuel fittings, then retightening them, and doing the same with the TB bolts.

I had to grind/cut my bracket too.

That is seriously odd, my Holley 58 mm throttle body fit just fine on the Stealthram and mine is an 89. I wonder what the deal is?
I actually never had (or noticed a) the clearance problem until the third or so time I mocked it up. Maybe you just "got lucky" like I did the first couple times?

Hm. Did you have to shorten the TPS tang any to get it to fit to the Holley TB?

I had the same probloem with my Edelbrock/BBK 52mm TB. All I did was go to Napa and find a narrower 90* fuel fitting. The fitting Holley supplies is pretty fat, so a smaller one was all it needed to clear the linkage...

I've heard that some people have had to use a pre 87 bracket. Anyone have any experance with that if it works or not?
(mine is a stock 91 throttle body that definitly won't clear the fitting on the fuel rail)

I clearanced mine quite a bit just like you planned. I have never had the throttle stuck open on me either due to a cable that jumped the track....
