Anyone running a 327 with HSR yet? ( I did a search)

I was just offered a fully built low milage 327 for cheap (dirt cheap)by someone that I know who knows everything that's in the motor. It has double hump heads (need the holes drilled for the accessory brackets). It also has the 2 x 4 intake that was famous on the earlier camaros. I could sell that to fund the project since I am on a budget.

I know first off this would not go well with the TPI . I had considered a Stealth Ram swap so this would be a good reason to go that route. I think the SR would like the 327's tendency to wind up. I was just wondering if anyone has done it yet and would like to get some feedback. I know some of you will say get a 350 which was my plan but I can't pass up this deal. It's either going in my car or I'll be saving it for another carbed car someday.

Hi, I'm doing that swap too. I don't know what info I could give you, I'm learning as I go along. I've been told to get a 350 over and over, but I'm going to fuel inject my 327. Not giving up. From what people have told me, either the Accel/Lingenfelter Superram, Holley Stealth Ram or the TPIS Miniram will work. I have heard that the Superram can be a pain to install, so I'm not going that route. I am going to use the Miniram from TPIS. I've heard good things about it. I've heard good things about the Stealth too. They all cost money too. Also, heads....... I had "291" double/camel hump heads, no accessory holes. This was a pain. I talked to shops about tapping the holes and they said it could be done, but I might run into leaks from the holes. I talked to people about the holes and they said to just get new heads. Well I ended up getting new set of heads. I think any of those intake systems will perform well, just your preference.

Glad to hear someone else is doing this.
The way I see it, anything is better than my 305 right now. It will make plenty of power and I can then take my time to build a 350 or 383. My brother was running 12s a few years ago with a similar built 327 in his 80 Camaro. Of course it was carbed and had a really radical cam.

I'll ask around about the bolt holes. The guy I know at the shop is pretty good, He might be able to help me figure something out. I've heard of simple brackets being fabbed up for this.

I did make my own bracket for the generator on my setup. It was not very difficult. I used one header bolt and one intake bolt and wrapped a 1/4" flat bar around w. a nut welded on it to mount generator. No big deal at all. I do not have AC though.
