For those of you running Accel 8.8mm wires...

.....the custom fit ones.....I'd just like to know how much luck you've had with them. After replacing 3 wires that were cracked and arching on numerous occaisions over the last few months....I went with the 8.8's. So whats the concensus on quality, durability, longetivity and overall satisfaction with these wires? Feedback would be greatly appreciated. I plan on getting the supercoil if my car doesnt give me any c**p again anytime soon. The plugs i'm using currently are regular bosch platinums. Any suggestions or comments? Thankx.

I just bought a set of the Accel 8.8 MM plug wires with 90 degree boots....I'm about to get my headers installed..and these were recommended...I know a few people with them...they've never had any problems....

I know what you mean about non-stop mechanical failures and problems. I am only now getting that under control. I've had the car for 8 months and I have just started modding it as of late.

Exactly....i mean, it seems like everytime i want to do a modification, something just HAS to go bad...everything you see listed in my second list that I was going to do....i had all those things sitting in boxes in my living room. Everything was ready to be done at once. But then, my MAFS, trans govenor gear, 02 sensor, relays, and front end decide that they all want to go on a permanent vacation together. Definetly not something that helps my cause. Yea, its 17 years old.....things will go.....I'm just tired of it nickel and diming me. Hopefully, this will be it with the "FIXES" for a while...

Good to hear. You really cant buy cheap parts for things like this. I learned that lesson fast. I think instead of modding my TA, i think its time I start doing mods to the C5. Although the mods for the TA are relatively cheap....300 total. The exhaust for the C5 i want is a borla stinger system, and it goes for $700...those are just the mufflers. I'll add Random Tech cats to the car as well, another $400 at least. Then intake, another $250-$400 depending on brand. So maybe i'll do the TA mods slowly.....IF nothing else goes wrong.

I have Accel 8.8 mm in my Camaro. When installing the new heads we accidently burned one of the accells and exposed the fiberglass braid. We tested our stupid idea of seeing if it would still send a spark through the wire. Sure enough it did, and still had almost 0 degrees of resistance (with the huge burn!), but we still replaced it. I have almost a whole Accel ignition system and I like it.

Ive got an Accel control module, coil, cap, rotor, wires and plugs. I went through two sets of 8mms, then finally dished out the dough for 8.8s. Ive got uncoated headers and havent had a problem for the 2 1/2 years theyve been on.

Same here. I think most people have tried the 8mm and weren't satisfied. So The 8.8mm wires were the next try and the work great. I would recommend them. The custom set, not the universal.

P/N 8021 for universal 90 Accel 8.8. Had mine on for 4 years now. Still perfect condition.Running coated Hooker shorties also. Clears the headers well.

Im running Accel 8.8s with my HSR. I must say it is a very tight fit back there with the huge boots. This may be due to abuse(twist, turn, pull, push them outta my way for several rocker installs among other things), but they seem to arch on anything around them. They are also two years old which may contribute.
