I forgot to mention my main goal here. I recently purchased this 1991 Camaro RS and I was told it isn't the original and engine and can pretty much see that, however I was told this was a 4.3 litre engine and have no clue where this thing came from or whether its true. Now I have the engine ID from the engine, is there any way to get a VIN number out of this, or is there a VIN number on the engine so I can match up what is already on the car? Thanks.

a 4.3? really? can you post some pics? What's the 8th digit on your vin? if you have an RS camaro I'm guessing it's "T". You can call any GM dealer parts department and give them your engine ID number and they will run it for you to tell you what's under the hood. Hope that helps you some.

Great thanks, i'll be sure to get some pics up soon, let me go ahead and call the dealer later today. The original Engine was a 3.1, however whats under the hood is not the original so im pretty sure the VIN won't match. I'll be sure to find out today though and thanks.

Where is the disappointment? I just want to identify the engine. I don't ecactly understand what you mean about the degrees or angles but its no big deal my main concern is because im going to do a rebuild on it soon and is the reason of me asking, thanks for the help though any other opinions? I love the way the car runs. Could somene possibly circle my TPS unit?

TBS? you mean TPS? The degree is the degree of the engine block.. Chevy V-8s for the most part at 90* as are some V-6's. The 4.3 is a 350 with 2 cyl. lopped off. The 2.8/3.1/3.4 are all 60* V-6's. The intake you got there is for a 60* block, and would not fit the 4.3. most 4.3's are tbi, but there is this 4.3 vortec block that has something that looks like TPI.. hers a pic... its of my brothers truck.
1. Why is this in the TPI board? The V6 would probably be more help.
2. The "Degrees" he was talking about refers to what angle the pistons are to each other when looking from the front.
