ECM Interchange 730 and 749
Does anyone know if the factory prom for a 730 will work in a 749? I did a search but everything is about modifying the 730 harness to use the 749 for turbo/supercharger use.
I purchased a complete sd tpi kit for my TBI -> TPI swap and it came with a 749 computer with a AXXB prom installed, the guy said it ran fine but I wanted to make sure it would work. Also, anyone know what kind of drivability to expect using the 305auto prom with a 305 5speed car? I think I read it tends to stall when coming to a stop? I'd like to install the TPI make sure everything works, then burn a 5 speed chip and start tuning.

Provided the harness is pinned to match the 730 code.. it will work.
I have run both a 730 and 749 with the harness pinned to $58 SyTy code. It stands to reason the reverse is true.
Running auto code with a stick or vice versa is bad Karma. Many changes in IAC control...
