I am pretty sure that guy in the 10s was on a big shot of nitrous. If i'm thinking of the guy you're talking about, when he first showed up we were all in disbelief, not necessarily because of the times, but because he was using stock 22lb injectors and trapping way into the 120s. Now while ski_dwn_it has done increible things with 24s, he is shfting by 5500, and this guy was running a miniram with a big cam so he was no doubt ****ing a lot higher. So after a bunch of arm twisting he admitted to having the bottle. Ain't much that's gayer then lying about your combo online to a bunch of strangers.

Fastest stock bottom end i am sure about is traxion's 12.2, should be way into 11s with the new cam/exhaust though. I think Buckeyeroc ran a 12.4 on a mild untuned SR combo on a stock bottom end. Not sure if any of the 11 second NA guys are using stock bottom ends or not.

current for me is 12.437 @ 108.29 that was with a broken #8 top ring. also on 125 n2o. the only thing not stock as far as bottom end is the pistons. they are the speedpro 345np cast pistons. also, in hot rod mag there was a featured 3rd gen formy. runs 10.51 on n20. completely stock bottom end.

Damn I need better traction. I've got basically the same trap speed as you but over a 1/2 second slower ET. guess thats what **** for tires will do to you..... oh well, one of these days I'll get to the traction problems.

My car runs 12.40 @ 111 with a 1.72 60 ft The motor is 105K old factory stock long block ( Never had the valve covers off.) and yes I run a NOS kit with 150 H.P. jets.

Will be at the track this weekend looking for an 11 with a new Yank SS3600 converter and 180 H.P. jets.

Just so there isn't any confusion, Ed is not talking about me, ski_dwn_it, running the bottle and lying on the net. Some reading that quickly, might mistakenly think that is what he is trying to convey.
Now that is cleared up Here is my stock bottom l98 experience with the fastest car. Its a full Trim Vette with just racing skinnies and slicks, with a roll bars etc, full luxury options all still intact. Its Ralph, from the Corvette Forum. You can go to this link and see some pretty stout setups. I know Ralph personally and have checked his setup out repeatedly. As it was the first setup I ran on my stock bottom 350, however unlike his, all my top rings were broke Hence the reason I have the 406 now. For what its worth, Ralph is running 24# SVO injectors also. His best times are: Best ET: 60 ft - 1.62, 11.63 @ 116 with no power adders.

Wheelsup on the vette forum is quicker than Ralph, but his race weight, and majorly modded car is further from stock than Ralph's car, not taking anything away from Phil as its an impressive feat, Ralph is my book is doing more with less.

You can visit the site of proven setups listed below. There is a lot of good information on the site with a vartiety of combinations that if followed, yield great results! They are all there for the takin......

http://temp.corvetteforum.net/c4/bea...nSet-ups.shtml

Hope this helps.

There is a guy in NY named Nick Fusco who runs a l98 formula. Car is white and had been a couple of the magazines already. I've raced against him a couple of times.

He runs 10.70's on stock short block with nitrous. Car is lightened in every way possible, ported vette heads, 11:1, SLP cam, superram, 4.10 gears and 700r4 with I believe a 2800 stall.

Car hooks WELL! I think it pulled a 1.44 60' time last time I paired up against him.

I'm not the fastest but...

12.895 @ 108.15 with a 1.95 60' & still tuning, NA as in my sig. Drag radial & full exhaust.

I personally think that nitrous while being fine for racing etc, and a great power adder, skews the results when comparing what a good setup is to what an dog it could be.

I watched a guy at the strip run 12.4s all night with a modded SR/383, which I thought was terrible for an engine like that, then he nailed it with a 100 shot and ran 11.4s. That to me is a false power.

If your running a fairly modded up car in the 12s/high 11s and you can't add 100-150 shot to get in the 10s that is sad.

Its all relative I guess to what you want out of the setup.

Just my .02

Yeah, thats TA2SLOW for you. He pulled the same crap on the MOFBA and Fastlouis boards and I believe he got banned from both them as well :sillylol: .

Anyway, I have an idea: lets make a top100 fastest list sticky with
Name 60' time, 1/4 time/mph, and a small side note.

Take me for example. My line would read:
MelloYello - 1.981 60'...12.982@109.25...N20 TPI

TRAXION would read:
TRAXION - 1.778 60'...12.244@112.52...N/A TPI

Guido would read:
Guido - 1.XXX 60'...10.95@126.4XX...Turbo EFI/DFI

...and so on and so forth. That way, people could say "hmm...let me check the list to see who has the fastest carb/TPI/N20/Supercharged/Turbo/N/A car out there, reference the people who own those cars, and PM them for tips or whatever. Plus, It would give us goals - to be number 1

Also, timeslips will have to be posted/e-mailed for them to be accepted (quarter mile only) and MUST include the short time.

What do you guys think about this? Let me know

We have a registry like that on the vette forum. Its a nice way to see where you stand if your interested in that stuff.
