Bare Vortec heads??

Bare Vortec heads??

I wan't to get a set of vortec's, but can I buy them new bare?? I want stainless steel valves and some better spring's than stock, so I am thinking just get the bare head. What do you guy's think??

Never seen bare stock vortecs but here is a link to someone selling some vortec style fast burns that have the machine work already done. Don't know who the seller is but here ya go.

The bare castings are more expensive than an assembled set.

That's funny I show a difference of about $12 per head, the lower price to the bare head.

Those heads on E-Bay are not Vortec heads, it is a lie! They look to me like 803 heads with some really poor chamber work.

The bare heads where more expensive than the loaded heads at one point. I expect they still are at most walk-in dealerships. I didn't know that they'd changed the prices. The loaded heads are obviously the better deal even though the hardware is useless if you plan on running a decent cam.

Those are not Vortec Heads (Ebay ones) Look at the combustion chamber....the fast burn design is a heart shape combustion chamber not D shape like those....buyers beware!!!
