would a lt1 style maf work on a 87 L98?

I wanted to do that and I called Granetelli Motorsports to see if it would. I was planning on buying one of their units if so. They told me no it wouldn't work and they had tried to make it work.

If you find someone who can make it work I would be interested. At this point I'm considering switching to a SD system. A buddy of mine picked up a 90 Corvette last year and he said it responded much better to performance enhancers like heads and runners than the MAF cars did. He's had several of the MAF cars so he should know. He's always been one of the fastest around here...

ya my buddy decided to try and move the wires inside mine and broken them off so i'm looking for a new one and don't really feel like spending 500 bucks for one and i have one of those lt1 styles sitting in my basement.

Speed density is the way to go! Why do you think all the "stand alone" systems are speed density.

You should be able to get a remanufactured MAF for about $150, call around to your patrs stores.
