Edelbrock Intake

Has anyone tried the Edelbrock TPI intake manifold and, if so, do they think they are worth the money? I am considering purchasing one and was wondering.

Thanks.

Need some work out of the box to flow as good, as it should out of the box. I bought a ACCEL lower and was very pleased . Much more money than the edelbrock. DO NOT BUY THE TPIS ONE. IT IS AN OVER PRICED EDELBROCK ONE.

Actually TPIS's Big Mouth intake is a worked over Accel intake.

I have the edelbrock intake and runners and they did need some port work done to them out of the box but not a big deal considering how much less $$$ they are than the accell and tpis ones. I am considering going with a mini ram on my engine if you are interested i would sell the intake and runners for $400.00

Did someone say search?

Straight from the FAQ section:

Q: Are the Accel, Edelbrock and TPIS TPI intake base the same?

A: The Edelbrock and TPIS TPI intake base are both made by Edelbrock. TPIS does go one step further and port matches all the entries and exits on the manifold and the others do not.

Accell makes their own TPI intake base.

All three TPI intake bases are pretty much the same, and you would be hard pressed to tell the difference in performance between the three.

Don't have to, I've seen them. The early offerings from TPIS still had the Accel logo on the manifolds.

And if you call up TPIS today and order one, it will be a ported Edelcrock manifold. Dont believe me? Order one and find out. I've seen enough of them, its not an Accel base they are selling.

What sort of work should I do to the Edelbrock intake manifold, if I was to buy one?
Thanks.
