Car won't start unless...
... I disconnect my EST bypass harness. When connected the car just turns over and over. I just put in a brand new coil and ignition module. (coil has yellow and red wire). What is causing this problem? What is the difference between the yellow and the white wired coils? The engine/distributor is out of an '85 IROC but the computer is out of a '92 Z28.

According to the GM Shop Manual for the 86 Vette, if the pick-up coil has a yellow wire, then the ignition coil must have a yellow wire too.
If the pickup coil has a clear or black wire then you can use the ignition coil with a red wire.
Now, this applies to the 86 Vette TPI, and not your specific combination, but GM seems to think matching the wire colors correctly is important.
