EGR Block off

Hey all I am in the process of building a 305 in my daily driver Convertible. I am using the L98 Vette heads #113 with no egr. I have no emissions so I need to know where I can get a block off plate. I am running the stock prom, will I have any problems with it.

Thanks
Brian Felts

You can make one out of steel or aluminum. TPIS sells one out of aluminum for about $8 if I remember correctly...

i am pretty sure stock computer, with no egr will yield in the SES light being on all the time, so u might need to get someone to make you a new "stock chip" with no egr.

I had an old fuel pump block off plate (you know, the one that goes over the mechanical fuel pump location on the block) and used the EGR gasket as a template.

Cut it out, drilled a couple of holes, a little sensor safe silicone sealant and bolted it on.

It's been on over three years now - of course I did have the EGR turned off in my PROM so no SES light.

Hope this helps.

Jake

With removing the EGR, did any of you experience detonation, or any other problems?

you can just make one out of a piece of metal. THats what I did. Im going to have it powered coated black or red to match my other pieces.

Why? You can't see it anyway with everything installed!! That's why I wonder why TPIS bothers with its polished aluminum one, what's the point?? Whatever floats your boat...
