Electrical Problem

I have a problem without having power locks, power mirrors, power truck, interior lights and horn. I am pretty sure it is a relay but don't know which one it is, so if anyones know can you reply back.
Thanks

I don't think any of those items use a relay.
Have you checked the fuses? All those things sound like they may be on the same fuse. I think it's called the "cust" fuse.

Welcome to the board!!

If your fuses are fine, there is a relay that I believe powers those...On my car it is right behind/above the hood release and has "f e d c b a" on it-it is called the body wiring relay. But definitely check your fuse marked courtesy-if this is the problem, the cigarette lighter would not work either. The main cause that I have seen is a penny or foil gum wrapper falling in the lighter port....

It happened to me also. My foot knocked the small silver box looking thing on the fuse block out of place. I put it back in and got the everything back.

Don't have a schematic for a 89 IROC but, looking at a 87 GTA/Firebird schematic I see a fuseable link that supplies power to the "tail lights" and "ctsy" fuses. You mentioned the "power truck" wasn't working. If you meant the "hatch pull down unit" that would make sense because the hatch pull down unit is powered off the same fuseable link as the tail light and ctsy fuses are.

In my schematic, the following are powered from the same fuseable link (some items may not apply):

Hatch pull down unit (no fuse shown for this).

Tail lights (thru the "tail Lts" fuse).

Power antenna, horn relay (forgot abt that relay), dome light, inst cluster (digital), release switch (??), courtesy lights, cig lighter, glove box light, factory radio (memory power), outside mirrors, door locks, and cargo compartment light all go thru the "Ctsy" fuse.

If all these items quit at the same time, including the hatch pull down unit, I'd be looking for that fuseable link. Unfortunately, the schematic does not show where the link is located. I'd start with the ones down by the starter though.

Hello John_iroc,

Check your "ACC" (accessory) fuse, it supplies power to the items you have mentioned. The fusible link that was mentioned in an earlier post, is located at the starter solenoid and supplies power to the fuse block. If it turns out that you need the schematic for it, I have the wiring schematics for a 1989 Iroc.
