magnet down distributor hole

Hey guys, got a problem here.

I have the intake off. I dropped a small piece of metal down distributor hole. Looking back, it probably wasn't a big deal. However, I stuck one of those magnet extension pens down the hole to retreive the small piece of metal. Then guess what. The magnet broke off of the pen into the distributor hole somewhere. Cheap glue, cheap magnet, whatever the case. I have absolutely no idea where it is at this point.

I visually looked and felt with my fingers, other better, flexible shaft magnets, and metal rods everywhere down there the best that I can. There is absolutely no sign of the magnet. I have absolutely no idea where it is right now. Items will only reach down 5" below the distributor hole....I felt the sides, bottoms, everywhere and there's absolutely no sign

It's definately not touching the distributor gears near the entrance of the hole

What do you guys suggest?

Tuesday, a buddy of mine will come over to help me to do what needs to be done. If it's not above the cam...how certain would I find it with the oil pan off?

Say a lot of prayers and wear out a couple of sets of rosary beads. It is somewhere down with the oil pump and the oil pan. Good luck!!!!!!!!! Oh, and say a few Hail Mary's too.

Get yourselfa better quality "magnet on a stick".
Pull the oil pan PLUG and drain the oil. Look for the item(s) in the drained oil.
If not found, fish around through the pan plug hole and hope you get lucky.

It also 'could" have ended up in the lifter galley.

Good luck with it.
