i have ported and siamesed my plenum to match my slp runners, it significantly helps airflow by removing restriction but just doing that wont give you a huge gain, every little bit helps.

I would do it, its worth the $3 for the carbide cutter and 30 min. of your time. At least thats all the longer it took me to do a good job on my plenum. Really tho it isn't much work just to do the plenum.

Dont use carbide. Use Non-Ferrous(sp)

It works, and it helps. Look at it before you do it (take a picture) and then look at it after you do it (compare) you will have gained/opened up soo much. You should be able to feel it in the upper RPMs, more so with a modded engine.

Whatever material cutter you decide to get (carbide, non ferrous etc) use a light oil of some kind as you work on the plenum surface. Motor, gear, two stroke WHATEVER - just make sure it is light. It will speed up the cutting process and save you a lot of time.
