Of those two heads I would say the Trick Flows. They flow a good bit more than the Edelbrock's from what I have seen. You will need to change springs on the TFS heads though to run a decent sized cam.

Your gonna need a spring upgrade on either head, if you run a decent roller cam, 211, 219, or XE roller stuff.

so will the 195cc runners be too much fot the superram?ill be running a 2800 stall so if i loose any torque the stall and the gears will make up for it.i hace 3.73's with auburn posi.i just want it to pull pretty good top end and i just dont know if the 170cc runners on the edelbrocks will flow up high.

Out of the box quality: Trickflows

Plan on further port work anyway: Edelbrocks

So it depends on what you plan to do with the heads IMHO.

Edelbrock 60739 heads have 170 cc intake ports, 2.02/1.60 SS valves and can be gotten with springs capable of .575 lift at no additional cost too.

They are under $1,000 complete, ready to bolt on, have CNC intake and exhaust ports (in about 1/1.5 inches) and flow 244 CFM @ .500 and .500 (based on their website and emails I have received from their tech support). They also have outstanding exhaust ports with great intake to exhaust flow ratios.

Always consider port size Vs cfm flow when looking at heads; not just max flow numbers. Small ports which are STILL capable of good flow at higher valve lift indicates excellent velocity.

Low and mid valve lift flow is more important than max flow.

Just my thoughts.

No, there's not a LOT of meat left in the casting.

When I had mine off a while back, I use my index finger and thumb to get an idea of how much metal there is for porting, and there isn't a lot.

I suppose Extrude Hone could take it out to the max if you decided to go that route. You can give them a call; I'm sure they have more exact data that my "index/thumb" provides.

Get the aluminum Edelbrock Victor Jr. 23* SBC heads. You can get them with springs that will support your cam too. I've personally read too many negative things about the trick-flows for me to do business with them.

The Edlebrock Victor Jr's are nice heads.

Exactly!

Those are the ones I plan to go with when I decide to change heads. With the CID I have, they should be perfect.

You can easily port a super-ram base to accomidate victor jr. heads.

Port matching is a good thing.

No you can not port it easily.

Vic Jrs require a Felpro 1206 intake gasket, to match any TPI lower you will have to weld in some alluminum and then have the base milled out.

Not a job for a shade tree mechanic by any stretch.

Not to mention Vic Jrs are rev heads, they like to hang in the upper Rs with big lift solid cams.

He said he needs to pass emissions. The victor Jr's dont have egr provisions, while the TrickFLow 23* do.
