Vortec heads on TPI Stock intake

Can some one who has purchased this SDPC Vortec TPI intake tell me the differences between the two...
I have looked at pictures and pictures and the only difference I see is the missing center bolts.
I don't know any local shops that stock this item that i could carry my intake down and compare.
Some pics with explaination would be very helpfull but, if no pics that ok....!!!!

The bolt pattern is totally different.. the stock intake will not bolt up to the vortec heads.. the angle is even different.. the stock bolts go in at a slant towards the center.. the bolts into the sdpc intake to the vortec heads go straight down.

Thanks....I had a buddy that had a hook up on some re-built vortec heads. The guy selling them said they would bolt to stock intake.
Is the cost for the heads and intake and all the other crap you have to get really worth it...???
I have the 14101081 stock heads now. I will have them off this week for sure and i'm trying to figure out best way to go with this.

Welp.. it was for me, because i had the 305 stock and i picked up a L31 vortec 350 for $1100 and then slapped in a zz-4 cam and lt4 springs by having the heads machined for just the springs and the guides cut down a little for the lift of the cam. I found a guy with SLP headers and got them for 1/2 price.. so we are talking a $2000 build.. then i paid the $400 for the intake base and another $600 in flexplate, bolts, damper, timeing cover, wires, plugs.. then a little more for injectors and 1.5:1 rr's and well you get the point.. seriously though.. if i had already had a good l98 block.. i might have gone AFR's with LT4 hot cam, then looked at HSR.. be about the same i paid for my whole build but would have got me in the high 11's =)

so far i have gotten 283rwhp and 396rwtq and i did that through a 80 series muffler and with a broken tranny mount.. soon to put a cutout on and try to break 300 to the wheels.. the car is good for high 12's, mid to low 12's with a high stall converter and slicks.

I appreciate the picture.. But, I have a stock 89 TPI intake and stock heads.
This picture looks like a totaly different setup.
The vortec heads I was looking at do not have a centerbolt and the angle are more vertical.
That looks like a pre-87 TBI/Carb intake on a pre-87 head.

That sounds like some serious money you have invested into what you got. Thanks for the info.
I'm getting the cast number off the vortec heads this guy is trying to sell me. So maybe vortec made a head that had the right angle. I don't know. The guy builds motors all the time and I don't wanna call him an idiot. I'm sure he knows what he's talking about. Maybe he thinks he has a set of vortec heads..!! How can you really tell vortec heads from others...?? Is there certian trade marks on them...?? I have never seen a set in real.

Check the casting marks out on mortec, or do a search; I'm sure a few guys on here know the casting #'s off the top of their heads. If the heads have been redrilled for standard bolt pattern, thats half the battle, but their is still no way that the intake will cover the ports on the vortecs. Its been a long time (before the SD base) but I beleive somebody posted how he had a aftermarket intake welded so that it would cover the ports. Their is simply no physical way that you can run the intake without welding it. You could easily sink a hundred or so into a stock base in getting it welded and planed and you'd still have a crappy flowing base that will need to be ported to match the intake. I'd think you'd be better off in the long run with the scoggin dickey base.

just my .02
