Painless wiring Harness ne1 know about them?
I have a 90 rs and will be switchin to a miniram. Instead of sendin out my tbi harness could i just buy a new painless tpi harness. I think i might of heard some1 say b4 it didnt have all the wires they needed. The thing is im not gonna have a/c or emissions maybe might even take the heat out. Any suggestions?

Emissions is considered an "option" on it.
The fusing is done with fewer fuses than stock. Bad idea.
VSS is considered an "option" on it. :wtf:
Basically, there is zero advantage to it and a few disadvantages. I wouldn't run one if you gave it to me.
There are enough third gens around being parted out. Get a good used harness and use it. Wiring is not that different between TBI & TPI in 90-92.

I bought a Painless harness for my EFI swap. It's a quality piece of hardware no doubt. But I didn't need all of the additional thirdgen functionality besides the FI itself. For you, I agree with jmd- get an actuall thirdgen harness especially if you're planning passing emissions.
Im not worrying about emmissions i just want the essentials like i was sayin no emissions,no a/c, maybe even no heat. Need everything else. Miniram dont have a erg spot anyway.

If you want to spend more $, get the wiring fused inferiorly to factory, and have a headache when trying to diagnose any wiring shorts, go right ahead and support a company that sells a defective product, okay? Your mind is obviously already made up, so whip out the Visa and call someone who sells them instead of debating this.

Um what are you talkin about my mind is not made up i was just askin questions. Want to know the best way to go its not always about whats cheaper either at least on my car its not. I was goin to send my harness out and have it changed over . Not many 90-92 tpi's bein parted out around me.

I almost ****ing hung myself from installing it.
Some wires are too short, some are too long, and it doesnt mate up very well to your existing harness. Those harnesses are designed for hotrods only. Not bolt-in replacements. Personally, I am going to start looking for a Z28 parts car and get the harness and get rid of my pain(ful) harness.

Sorry but I disagree with the naysayers here. I bought and installed the painless harness without any trouble. Got the longer version. Works great. Didnt have to splice anything. Just taped up a few not needed items.
