Any tips on improving mileage?

I get around 15 miles per gallon, according to the converter anyway, to me it's 15 litres per 100km, I would like to get it to something like 11-12 litres per 100km.

Any tips on what one can do to improve fuel economy?

With my summer tires and better road conditions I think I get around 12 litres per 100km though.

I would add a better flowing air filter, such as a K&N.
Other than that, I would make sure the car has a good tuneup (plugs, plug wires, cap, rotor).

Hope this helps.

Make sure your PCV valve gets replaced every other oil change. It plays an important role in scavenging lost air-fuel mixture.

The biggest fuel-saver I've found is keeping my foot off the gas.

My opinion on the matter is if you want fuel economy you buy a four banger. You buy a 350 for performance and power.

My Z gets about 26.5 mpg. Even driving hard it does in the 17mpg range. I expect it to do good heck I have friends with LS1 vettes doing 31mpg. Do a good tune up with the best parts, keep tires inflated properly, use synthetic oils that will help.

Make sure the car is in good tune as stated above and add headers/catback.

Language barrier, could you give me the full names? I'm just guessing those are abbreviations because they sound like it.

lol, yeah really man, that is the best way, but seriously maybe a new k&n and tune-up scheduled regularly, maybe new fuel filter, just little things like that make a big difference!!

Headers are aftermarket exhaust manifolds designed to flow much better than stock. "Cat back" is referring to all your exhaust components from the catalytic converter to the tips.

As mentioned earlier. a good state of tune and synthetics are always good and make sure your ECM isn't throwing any codes. One thing I am sure they implied is that in the tune up, the oxygen sensor often times gets replaced (it does on mine at least) Also, dirty injectors and a clogged catalytic converter can also cause poor mileage. Good luck!

15? This is city driving I assume?
Wow, that seems pretty low. I get about 20 or 21 in town, and 24-25 on the highway (in the camaro). In my truck I get about 17 in town, 19 on the highway.

Country driving, along not so straight roads with conditions that require studded tires, especially bad now since spring is coming and everything is becoming "slushy", I think thats the reason and me starting the car everyday to take a 1km trip to eat lunch in this cold climate probably doesn't do much for fuel economy either.

This is what I think anyway, I measured this week and it was 16 miles to a gallon, I should see what happens when summer comes and I can use my summer tires and the weather is hot.

It does around 1900/2000rpm at 60MPH and 1500/1600 at 50MPH and if that tells you anything, maybe the rpm's should be a little lower I've thought.

A year ago I've made a 1800 km trip (Poland-Germany-Poland) in December, the temperature was around -10 C (sorry for C scale, guys), highway mileage of my stock '89 GTA was under 9,5l/100 km, avg speed was 80-85 mph. I'm sure you'll get better mileage when you start cruizing at distances longer than 1 km
