Weird idle problem
After a while of driving around town, my idle shot up to 1500 rpm for no reason. I got no SES light or nothing. I replaced the IAC motor and everything was fine but then again after driving around town in stop and go traffic, the same problem. The idle all of a sudden jumps up to 1500-2000rpm. What the heck is going on? What other sensors dictate exactly what tells this idle motor to open up so much? I temporarily put a piece of duct tape over the IAC intake hole on the TB to keep the idle around 750 in traffic. The engine is a 305 TPI (conversion) SD system.
