air/feul ratio meter going crazy????
I just installed a autogage air/feul ratio meter in my 91 z28 5.7. When im driving normaly or idleing it sweeps from lean to rich very fast. it even sweeps so lean that it doesnt show any led's.. when i am at wot it is 2 bars in to rich. and holds constant. i have a new bosh o2 sencor 400 miles ago when i put on headers (hooker 2055's) any sudgestions on why this is happening >??? is this normal?? what should i do??.. any help would be appreciated..
thanks

That sounds pretty normal for those things. They are pretty useless. It should switch from rich to lean and back again fast because that is what the computer is telling it to do in a way. The computer gives the engine more fuel and then when it reads rich it takes fuel away. It does that constantly.

actaully, it flucuates even faster then that. The computer is constantly trying to maintain the proper air/fuel ratio and there are so many variables in your driving style that can change the ratio.

You got to be careful with what you get at a part store. I work at one, and we get complaints all the time on bosh o2 sensors. It could be bad. Thats the type of thing that I don't buy from my own store. but those o2 sensors suck anyway.
