Im swaping a L98 from a wrecked 88 gta into a 86 tpi z28. What computer or injection system problems can I expect with this project? I have the computer from the gta and as far as I know all other needed parts. Im sure that some one out there has struggled with this project as the L98 is the generation's most coveted powerplant. Any help on this would be awsome.

 

well both are maf.

computer is a definite must to use from the 88

u need to use the 350 injectors which are 22 verses the 19's for 305's.

and its important to make sure u use the 350 tpi knock sensor.

thats mostly it that i can think of.

 

I have the computer from the 88 5.7. I just wanted to make sure that it was neccisary to change it before I rip apart my dash. Is the harness the same? scooted45@yahoo.com

the computer is right under the pasengers side bottom panel. not hard to get to.

 

are you sure? The donor car had its computer buried behind the dash in a spot that was only accesable once the dash supports were removed. It was just above the heater core. I have yet to try and locate the unit on my Z28. scooted45@yahoo.com
