won't start
I"m retrofitting a 78 with tuned port injection off of an 87 camaro, with mass air. The motor is chevy's 350cid crate motor, I've got the tpi all hooked up ready to go using the painless wiring harness. The car turns over, i'm getting pleanty of spark, getting pleantly of fuel to the rail, 45psi. Using accel 24# injectors for a 350, brand new. Also using the hypertech chip. The car cranks fine, and fires a few times, but just won't get going. It cranks and fires and spits a few times, but won't stay alive. I'm getting code 12 out of the computer, nothing else. Any ideas? Thanks, Mike

Code 12 just means you're communicating with the computer.
Mine's doing the same thing as yours. However, I'm not getting any spark past the distributor cap. I think something's still buggered up with my wiring. I'm not throwing any codes or anything.

Sounds like you might have the distributor in 180 degrees backwards. You would still get spark but the firing order would be off and it would just run for a second and die.

First Adjustments
Make sure you reset the TPS and the timing.
I was going through the same tye of startup last week.
The timing light (and a new module for the Distributor) showed me the way.
I used some starting fluid to determine if it was fuel related, it wasn't.
I was flooding but "thought" I had the spark right.
After putting in the new module it still had trouble running.
A reset of the timing to where I knew I was straight up at TDC, it fired right up.
Good luck.
