TPI Plenum Extension
TPI Plenum Extension
It may also be called a distributor cover. Corvettes got a nice aluminum piece and the Camaros got plastic. Does anybody have a p/n for the Corvette part? Thanks.

Just look on ebay they have them all over, or call GM or any auto store and ask for the distributor cover for a TPI vette (pick a year in the late 80's there all the same). That will get you what you want.
I never would have guessed that these are in dealer stock, but they are.
BTW, there is at least one company on e-bay that is selling these (new, I believe) and they are charging MSRP (around $25.00), plus shipping. The dealer I buy from is selling it to me for less than $20, but then I buy a fair number of parts from this place.
Check gmparsdirect.com before you buy one off e-bay.

It is, but they gouge on shipping. I check the price at gmpartsdirect.com, including shipping, and then check with my favorite dealer. The dealer doesn't charge me shipping, but I do get hit with sales tax.
Use the gmpartsdirect.com site to keep your local dealer honest.

I just picked the part up from the dealer. For anyone that's interested, the p/n for the extension is 10108425. You are also going to need three bolts, p/n 14082425.
BTW, I just paid $18.35 (plus tax) at the dealer. Now, I buy a lot of parts from this dealer, but that is a lot cheaper than some of the sites that I have seen on e-bay. One place on e-bay was charging $25.00 plus shipping. Even gmpartsdirect.com is cheaper than that place (around $22.00 with shipping).
Although I bought one bolt (I thought that's all I needed) I'm probably not going to use it. I think I'll go to a Home Depot and find a nice stainless steel bolt. The factory original bolt won't look that good.

What did they charge you for a bolt? Those bolts are a ripoff, Just buy a 4M x 12MM from a hardware store.
The distributor covers are all universal, As far as my experience takes me anyhow.

There are plenty of pics posted on e-bay. Check those out. The part, as it comes from the factory has a rough "as-cast" finish to it (I guess that's what they would call it). From what I read on e-bay, the Camaro's got a plastic extension, the Corvette got this aluminum piece.
It probably looks better than the cheap plastic piece, but it isn't that great. However, there is a polished tpi system on e-bay, including the extension. When polished it looks excellent. And, for $18, you really can't go wrong.
Again, if what I read on e-bay is correct (and I have no reason to doubt it), this piece will fit any tpi system, both MAF and speed density.

The msrp for the bolt (and yes, that is singular) is just under $4.00(!) A rip-off? Big time.
I think omcrider is right about it being universal.
Now, if you go to a dealer and you don't have the p/n, be careful about asking for a distributor cover. That's what I asked for and the parts guy showed me a part that wasn't the extension. Get the parts guy to go to the tpi page and you won't have any trouble finding the extension. I think the GM parts catalog also refers to it as an "extension."

Yeah if your not going to polish or sand and paint, theres no reason to get the aluminum one, But if you are, it looks great polished and the plastic just has to go. Heres mine polished with the center lines painted black, I just finished this project.

If your tpi isn't polished and is fairly clean they look great on there too. I got mine a while back and only paid $30 for two of them on eBay, brand new with bolts. They are all the same, but if you have a big distributor cap (coil in cap HEI) you may have to do some trimming.
