Stockish l98 cam selection
Im sure this has been asked before, but the search page keeps bringing up a page saying server unavailable when i try to use it. I have a 92l98 bone stock except for a flowmaster 80 series and a cutout before it. I have to replace the intake gasket due to leakage and would like to change the cam out while i have it all apart. I also plan on porting the base and plenum and maybe try to clean out the heads a little. The car will most likely never see anything more other than some shorty headers in the future. What would be a good cam for this combo? I think it will hit low 14's as it sits, so i would like to break 13's. Ive beat 2 lt1 ta 6 speeds and pulled them to 100mph so i think i have a fairly fast one. I also would like a throatier sounding muffler. any suggestions? I usually leave the cutout open all the time now because the muffler is too quiet and i still get drowned out by any ls1 with aftermarket exhaust(although im sure headers would help). Is it really worth it to spend all the extra money for a full cat-back system or is just the muffler a better choice.
edit: I forgot to say that the cam needs to work with the stock tuning(even if tuning would improve performance)

Look at Comp 986 with the correct retainers and stuff.
Also gonna have to check with retainer to valve guide clearance.
