89 350 TPI Into a 84 Trans Am....
Hey guys,
i have a few questions...
I recently bought an 84 TA rolling chassis and was wanting to buy an 350 TPI engine and install it in my TA..
Now are there any modifications or things i should know or have in order to do this? Or is it basically just a drop in go, as long as i have everything that is part of the TPI? Do i need a new aftermarket harness in order to use the harness from the TPI?
Just wondering the basics of the install so i can get a better idea. Sorry im a 4th gen guy mainly so im just a lil fimilar with the 3rd gen things..
thanks

Yeah ur gonna need a new wiring harness, I got mine from Painless wiring for about $300.00 also before u get that u have to make sure which system u r going with, if its a mass air flow system or a speed density system. And be sure to get at least 22lbs fuel injectors if ur running a 350, some people dont know 19lbs injectors are for 305's but ur probably gonna modify the injectors anyway. Your also gonna need a new computer, make sure u get gm# 1227165 ecm module thats the correct one for that year i believe. And if ur getting an aftermarket chip get one without the VATS.
