305 vs 350
There sure are jimbo, what u do is pull ur heads off, and look at the bore size. If its 4"s its a 350, if its 3.720938403804293423" its a 305. Now theres also a # on the back of ur block which you can put in the computer and look up. Theres also ur VIN # for ur car which you can also run to see if its a 305 or 350. I think 305s second #/letter in the VIN is always a letter and the 350s are always 8. Could be wrong but anywayz ya.
check the 8th digit of the vin. An 8 = a 350. But the only way to be sure of an engine swap is to check the engine block drivers side top where it bolts to the transmission, just 6inches from the distributor. The blocks were stamped with a 5.7 or 5.0.

use the vin decoder, pop off a valve cover and get the casting number off the head and search it up at mortec.com. If the motor has never been repleced the vin number will tell you what motor you have.

look on the back of the block if in the car on the drivers side right behind the head there should be an engine casting number write that down and go to ....
www.mortec.com
and look to see what you have .....as for the vin or if you have a stick shift thing thats not always accurate especially in a car thats anywhere from 12-22 years old you never know what engine has been swapped in even thou it "looks stock"....
hope this helps any more questions just ask up

I wouldnt believe him dude, not saying hes not telling the truth just that I wouldnt trust him with out knowing for sure. Just go get the # of the block and check online. Just call him and ask him 4 the # im sure hell give it 2 u, if it checks out then go look at the car. Make sure the #s match up to the ones he gave u tho.
The quickest way to spot check between a 305 and 350 is to open the hood and eyeball the harmonic balancer. The 350 came with a bigger balancer.......BUT it is also possible (but not as likley) that some ding-dong swaped balancer sizes on either motor.
