oil consumption and irregular idle, intake gasket?

My TA has consumed about one qt. in 1500 miles and idles irregularly. There is also small amounts of oil that collects where the heads meet the intake manifold. Does this sound like a bad intake gasket?

Make sure you are not leaking at the valve cover gasket, which is common. As for the intake gasket, it's entirely possible there's a leak there. Spray some carb cleaner around it and listen for the idle to smoothen out.

it's probably not the valve cover from where the leak is and it's on btoh sides

I am having this problem also. What intake are you using? Checking the intake gasket is a good idea. Try switching to a good Fel-Pro or other gasket.

i haven't really noticed any oil burning out the exhaust. I am pretty sure it is the intake manifold gasket though. I'll take care of it this fall when i put it in storage. Thanks for all the help.
