I'm looking to at least hit 300, mid to high would be nice, but i'll be happy with 300. (all based on a free flowing exhaust)

This car will be 95% street, and needs to pass emisions.
The purpose is to build up my 350 before i install it.

Alot of people on these boards recommend the vortec heads, so in my rough draft of my build thats what im going with. Will the cam be aggressive enough? Or should i go bigger?

Opinions greatly appreciated

Thanks,

Personally I wouldn't go with the edelbrock cam. I would look for a cam thats in the RPM range of the intake and heads. Do you have a roller block. If so I would say an LT4 hotcam, or something in that area. I'm not sure the powerband of the intake. But I think its idle-5500. I could be wrong. You just wanna match up your cam to your heads and intake so that neither one is acting on one another.

I agree with snowman89. If you can pass emissions using a hotcam go for it. Those heads would work well with it. You'd be putting out similar hp numbers to SD's TPI crate motor.
Check around and see if other members have passed emissions with this cam.

The block is from a 89 firebird. I'll look into the lt4 hotcam.

The Vortec heads and hotcam was the combination I was building. It would make a great street motor, tons of torque. I ended up selling my ride. I have a new SDPC vortec TPI intake for sale if you are interested. Check the classifieds in this site.
