OK, I think I figured out what cam I'm gonna use
Im pretty sure I am going to use the comp Xtreme energy cam XE256H-12 its specs are: 212 and 218 @.050 .449" and .456" of lift on 1.5 rockers. For springs I will probably use the comp 981 so I can reuse the other stock stuff. I think I will also use the comp magnum roller tip 1.52 rockers, bumping the lift up to .455" and .462" of lift. This is an increase of .051" and .047" over the stock .404" and .415" (I think it may be a slightly larger increase, as the figures I used were based on the 87' L98 can which is a roller and has a touch more lift than the 85' Flat tappet version.) Anyways, I want to put this into perspective, they not much more than numbers to me. What kinds of gains should I expect with this setup? To me it seems the difference between the this comp cam and the stock 85' is similar to the difference between the 86' and the 85' cams. Would it be reasonable to say power increases may be similar?
