can i stroke my 350 TPI?

ive been told by many people that my Z can my stroked but i have also been told that since it has a ecm i cant stroke my 350. If it is true what esle would i need to do besides the rotation assembly, like better fuel injectors? somebody set me straight here.

Whoever told you your 350 tpi can't be stroked shouldn't be allowed to touch cars, ever. Yes it can be stroked. You'll need a custom EPROM chip for sure, as the speed density system you have makes assumptions based on the map which will no longer be valid for a different displacement motor, which will likely have a different camshaft. You will want your heads ported or (better yet) replaced with something better flowing -- a long stroke engine really needs good heads. Yes, larger injectors would be a good idea, at least 24s to start with. Your eprom will have to be programmed specifically for the size injector you choose. You will probably want a bigger throttle body than stock, although you could use the stock one if you had to. A stock TPI base manifold and runners are barely adequate for a 305, so for a 383 they will be largely inadequate. If you're looking to make power, you'll want to look at aftermarket manifolds and runners for the 383.

Definitely not a cheap route to go, but yep you can stroke it and keep a TPI.

You can stroke it, just make sure you've let it cool down otherwise you'll burn your hand.

TPI isnt speed density is it, my friends tpi is mass air flow and it just reads different changes in the motor and compensates for it.

Stroke it...if I ever have to replace the motor in my car again, it will get stroked. If I do, I will go with either a 396 or if there is anything bigger than that, I may consider the larger cubes
