When you buy a new sensor I beleive it comes with new ones, mine did atleast, and the sensor is pretty cheap.

You have to buy a sensor from the GM dealership to get the original type bolts. Chain stores doesn't use them.

Why the Fu*k anyone would buy a chain store part anyway is beyond me.

I ended up taking the 1 original one I had to a nut and bolt store and I had them order me 4 of them. Same for my TB plate bolts...

They're friggin screws. Who cares whether they have a torx head, flat head, phillips head or whatever.

No one, and I mean no one, would notice, or care what kind of head it has.

Please correct me if I am wrong..

I know with central home A/C units they are all made in the same factory in NC. Same is true for all washing machine gear boxes. They are all the same. This is also true with GE and Hot Point Appliances.

I can point this out with all kinds of machine tools also because that is what I did for a living for so long. There is only 6 factories in the US making phillips hex bits. Just goto home depot and look at how many brands you see.. Kinda like Ingersoll Rand making all the EXPENSIVE Snap-On air tools. Oh Yea Miller makes all the Snap-On welders. (The snap-on part was true 10 years ago. I cant really say that is true today.)

We used to make machine tools under 6 different company names. This is very common.

I guess my point is I really dont think there is 75 factories building TPS for GM cars. I would be willing to bet there is only one selling them to all the electronic companies like AC delco or BOSH or what ever. In other words you are getting the same part no matter where you buy it. Why pay more for fancy bolts and packaging when you can reuse your old bolts like I did? Oh yea you are throwing out the packaging anyway.

I am also willing to bet that sensor is used on other types of equipment for other things.

Now when it comes to their crappy rebuilt water pumps and things like that I can see your point. I just dont see it on new parts especially electronic parts when I know they are the same part more than likely built in the same plant.
