injector wiring

I need to find out what side of the injector needs to be connected to wire coming from ecm? I`m switching from tbi to tpi.
Does it matter which side is positive or what.

If I'm not mistaken, the fuel injector clip coming from the ECM only connects one way.

If you are viewing the contact end of the connector, the arrangement would be as follows:

So the tbi blue or green injector wire would go into the side that says to ecm, is that correct?

I'm not certain, since I don't have any TBI diagrams to review.

I'm not sure if Trickster comes into TPi, but if you post to the electronics board, or if this thread can get 'forced' over, I know he has just about every bloody thirdgen service manual. He should have something for ya.

Hello Red Devil, Yes I sometimes get over to this side of the board. I will start off with the TBI injector wiring. Injector #1 has a pink/black wire running from the fuse block to pin "B" of connector C207 under the dash. From there it has a red wire going to pin "A" of the injector. There is a dark blue wire going from pin "B" of the injector to the ECM where it has a splice in it going to pins "D15" & "D16".
Injector #2 has a pink/black wire going from the fuse block to pin "G" of connector C207 under the dash. From there it is a white wire going to pin "A" of the injector. There is a dark green wire going from pin "B" of the injector to the ECM where it has a splice with wires going to pins "C15" & "D14".
Now here is where the fun begins with the TPI injectors.
Injector bank #1 (injectors #1,3,5, &7) has a pink/black wire going from the fuse block to pin "B" of connector C207 under the dash just like the TBI injectors but the similarity ends there. From that point there is a pink/black wire going to pin "A" of each injector in that bank. There is a dark blue wire that goes from pin "B" of each injector in that bank to a splice that becomes one wire and goes to pin "C11" of the ECM.
Injector bank #2 (injectors #2,4,6, & 8) also have a pink/black wire going from the fuse block through pin "G" of connector C207 to pin "A" of each injector in that bank. There is a dark green wire going from pin "B" of each injector in that bank to a splice that becomes one wire and goes to pin "C12" of the ECM.
Please remember that the ECM in the TBI model only has two connectors while the ECM in the TPI model has three connectors. If you need a schematic of this let me know.

Nice picture. Mind if we add that to the TBI to TPI repin thread I did? This question has come up a few times, and since GM used random color wires its hard to answer.

re: schematic

Yeah, a schematic probably wouldnt be a bad idea, I`m trying to get as many resources as I can just double and triple check myself.
