Okay, I'm posting this on TPI, because my oroginal engine is TPI based. What I'm wanting to know, is I understood that there were problems with a LT1 intake on Dart Sportsman II heads because of longate water/egr ports, but I know that World Products that produce the Sportsman II are seperate from dart now and I also was told that the later dart heads were recast.

I found a post here where someone used the Dart Iron Eagle 180cc heads on an LT-1 intake conversion, but haven't gotten a response from him on what he had to do.

Have anyone performed the LT-1 conversion on late model Dart Heads without braising the LT-1 intake with aluminum to make it worK?

 

Sent you an email. Again, sorry for the delay, our power has been knocked out due to the weather recently. I had a machinst frined of mine weld some material above the ports. This was the only additional modification I had to make. If the intake has already be setup by John, check the JB weld after the welding. The heat tore up the JB weld on the front of the intake, causting a leak. I just pulled the intake off and tapped it for a pipe plug. Never leaked. FWIW I have since pulled the LT1 inake off and replaced it with a Stealthram.

 

Well, undoubtly you went to stealthram for a reason. I guess I really just need to face the fact that the LT1 conversion may be more frustrating in the end. I'm going to consider just forking up the extra $200 on top of what I was going to spend on this LT-1 conversion. Thanks for replying.
