TPI in a Box
My 1985 IROC came as a carbed converted car. The TPI and harness was given to me in a box. Can anyone give me a good source that would help me put things back correctly. I'm a TPI newbie!

A wooden box...LOL! The former owner of the car pulled the entire TPI system including wiring and carefully packed it away in a wooden box. Basically the wiring consists of everything from the passenger side of the car. The car currently runs off the drivers side harness. Now I want to put the TPI back in. I have no problem with the mechanical side of the swap, just the electrical/ECU.

The car is a 1985 IROC. Originally a 305 with a five speed. The 350 block is from a 1975 vintage. Not important in NM. The engine must be up to 1985 standards. The harness is the original. The car is a 350. I have purchased the larger injectors for a 350 and have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. I have a Superchip for a 350 in the ECU and a couple of custom made chips I will try out when it gets going. I have Vortec heads on the 350 so I guess it's time to hunt for a Vortec base. I'm on a very strict budget so I looking to get by without much for now and upgrade later as far as performance goes. Emissions testing is driving the need to go back to TPI. Not enough unscrupulous emissions testers to go around.
Actually I am green conscious and the car has passed tailpipe emissions standards. Needless to say, it will never pass the visual.

There was no 305 5 speed TPI in 85. What the 8th digit of the VIN number on this car? That will tell us what the orginal motor setup was in this car.
