RPMS goes to 1000 when car is shut off

RPMS goes to 1000 when car is shut off
Ok After I replaced the oil pressure switch when I turned my car off the RPMS went to 1000. Now when i start my car it doesnt start I have to force it to start by putting my foot on the gas while cranking. Could it be that I didnt put the distributor cap on right since I had to take it off to replace the oil pressure switch ? Now I also notice as if the engine is jumping a bit as a misfire ?
Could this be the problem cause I put the distributor cap on wrong ????
