Hopefully you didn't use the '92 Camaro water pump... with that belt setup you'd need a standard rotation pump...

Man that's a KILLER looking engine!
I'm so jealous an can't wait to get my 383 built.
The only thing I see that might be a problem is your
headers look really small for a 383 and might hurt
your hp. I have 1 5/8 headers and those look smaller.

Also the air filter looks good but I know that the stock set up
works better if you turn it into a ram air induction.

I am about to start on this same project. What size injectors are you using? I'm looking to use 36# for a 460HP 383. Do you have any HP number for this motor yet? Got any tips for doing the HSR setup?

Great job !!! I'm very impressed.

There has been alot of talk about the HSR and the water neck needing to be changed to other than stock.

What water neck did you use?

That neck looks like from a 305 TBI motor.

lilbowilson Yeah headers and exhaust are same. Used the ones of the TBI motor. After spending close to 9000 dollars i ran out of money. I'm going to go Cold air as soon as i find a nice METAL tube system. or i might have to fab one myself.

jfreeman74 I'm using 30lbs injectors. the reseach i did. here and on www.stealthram.com. 30 are good for the power you and i wanted. 36 would be alittle big unless you need them for power adders. my advice if you have a TBI motor and have deleted smog and A/C go with my setup and redo brakets. looks alot nicer. TPI car don't know much about. make sure you buget a small cap distributor if youd don't have one, little nick nacks. Pretty straight forward install direction are ok. didn't really use them til i got to the comuter part. I have heads that had 1206 gasket from man. and the hSR comes for the 1205. you can use 1206 but you have to add aluminum to it. so i ended up useing a 1244 custom fit gasket. sealed both intake and heads. no HP numbers yet. still tuning .

doc used the water neck off my TBI motor. but a chome one. i had no problems with it. looks like holley changed the intake from there first model. it rotated so it doesnn't interfer with the temp switch. or what ever it's called.

Hope this helps any other question let me know. or comments

HEY WHERE DID YOU GET THAT THROTTLE CABLE BRACKET?
I WANT ONE!!!!

Your using the 1244 gaskets what brand of aluminum heads are you using? I just got some trick flow and I want to be sure which intake gasket to use with the HSR.

Please let us know when you get it running and how it performs.

They look like Lokar throttle and TV cables to me. The chrome t-stat housing can be had at just about any parts store in the chrome parts aisle for $6. I use them all the time.

yup your right. your looking at about 150 dollars for all three. bracket, and 2 cables. got them from summit.

lilbowilson - I used 1244 because no one around me welds aluminum. if the heads are for 1206 gaskets and the hsr is 1205 then that what i would use the 1244. you can cut them and make them fit if needed. they fit good for me so i didn't have to do anything.

Oh it's running and it has some power just tuning now. just remember this. SUB FRAME CONNECTORS. this motor would twist the frame good.

Don't know the brand of heads. they may be Pro Action. there no name on them just a serial number. Bought them from Liberty a company my engine builder goes through. they are 64cc heads w/angles plugs and 195 runners

I bet my heads are the same as yours except mine are 190 cc.
I decided to sell mine because I'm going with a set of trick flow.
When you get that engine running right please let me know how those heads perform. I never got around to fixing my 327 build up with the Pro action heads. Only because I got some extra cash and I'm trying to build a 500hp setup. Know anybody that wants a professional build 327 with 64 cc aluminum heads and 244 dur .480 lift cam with 1.6 rockers that maks it .512 lift????
I would guess this combo is about 400hp $1500 all parts are new never ran.

looks very impressive... if i didnt have a SuperRam already I would love to give that intake a try. Might want to think about polishing it someday.

Only thing i would change is the Cone filter its gonna suck alot of hot air. And the Accel wires they dont hold up to well to header heat. At least they didnt for me. Some MSD 8.5 would work well.
