Quickest stock GM T5??

How about an 11.74 @ 118.22mph on a 1.66 60' running a 120k mile stock WCT5. Does this qualify? I don't know of anybody quicker. If so, post up! Yes, I finally made it back to the track Saturday. Haven't been since Dec 2003. First pass off the trailor......yes I trailored it because I was worried about the drivetrain......anyhow, first pass was 11.99 at 117.5 1.83 60'. Second pass 11.91 at 117.5 1.76 60'. Third pass 12.20 at 115.6 1.68 60' but I missed third gear. I was stoked about the 60 foot on this pass as it would have easily been an .8x pass. Fourth pass 11.74 at 117.98 1.66 60'. Woooohoo!!! I couldn't believe how well the car was 60' footin. It even surpassed my goal of 11.8x. Fifth and final pass backed it up with an 11.76 at 118.22 1.70 60'. Probably could have been a low .7x if my 60' would have been like the last pass. Quick setup on the car for track: New Mickey Thompson ET street radials 275/40/17 ran at 22psi, Skinnies up front, no swaybar, no back seats or spare tire.....race weight around 3350. Still have AC, radio, all the comforts. Stock suspension except tubular control arms up front, adjustable panhard rod and poly bushings in the stock rear control arms, running a Centerforce DF that has a ton of passes on it and it is still holding strong, stock rear end with Auburn posi and Strange 3.73 gears and motor is a 355ci SBC using a SuperRam, AFR 190cc heads, Extreme 224/230 camshaft, Hooker LT's, etc. The way I launch the car is by using the torque of the motor. I let off the clutch just a tad to get the car moving and then nail the gas while I finish letting out on the clutch. No shock to the drivetrain is key to life. I also let off the gas in b/w shifts, but I do shift pretty fast. I started out launching around 2k rpms and worked my way up. It seemed to like leaving around 3500rpms. The tires stuck like glue....no wheel spin at all and no spin on the 1-2 shift. Weather was in the mid 60's with some humidity. The car definitely has some .6x at 119mph in some colder dryer weather. I couldn't be more happier!!

Previous best was 12.07 at 114.8mph. Work done to the topend early last year was some additional porting to the cylinder heads, base and SR runners, added a 58mm TB and 1.7 rockers. Gained about 40rwhp/20rwtq with these mods and I actually still have a bit of dyno tuning left to do on it. All mods can be found on my site listed below!!

A friend in detroit has an 84 z28 with 350, stock t-5, centerforce dual friction clutch, 12 bolt with 4.56's and ran 11.80's years ago, like back in 1992. He is also running the stock fuel pump on the side of the motor. I called his car a freak. He had a 125 shot on it and ran low 11's. He used to leave at 4500 rpm and shift at 7500.

My 83z28's t-5 never made it down the street with the new 350 before it spit the 2nd gear bearings into the bottom of the tranny.

They were hit and miss, and the non-wc ones were even worse. His car is gutted with no interior though.

Was that pass on the motor or on NOS? What is the altitude where you are? How hard was it to install the headers?

I haven't used "nitrous" since the 305 engine. If I was using it I would be very dissapointed. Tracks down here in Louisiana are sea level. The headers weren't that bad, just a lot of little things need to be modified for installation.

Tracks here in Ontario California (California Speedway) are at 1400ft above sea level.

Nice numbers, makes me feel a little better about putting a t5 in my vette with a mild 350 (350 hp/400 tq).

And yes 400TPI, MI weather sucks right now.
