Difference between T/A and Camaro TPI

Ok here is my situation. I have a '91 Z-28 with 350TPI its a daily driver in the summer. I have been looking for another TPI setup to buy so i can work on it at my own pace ie. portmatching and such to the plenum and base. I have found a few TPI setups for sale but they are from a '91 T/A. Would this setup even work for my camaro? If so would i be at a disatvantage, because I have heard that the T/A was rated at less HP due to a differnt intake design. Is this true? Im lookin for all the help i can get.

They are indentical engines.

The camaro had more HP because of the twin snorkel air intake system to the throttle body. The firebirds used a air intake/filter system routed from behind the passenger-side headlight.

So the TPI parts are all the same, same casting or part #? And so after i would port match everthing and swap them i should see some gains.

they are all the same part number for the same year cars. as the years went on they changed as the system lost the cold start injector, and went from MAF to SD.

Alright sounds good. Now I can keep and eye out for a TPI system from a '91 camaro or T/A, it seems like there are lot more T/A systems out there than camaro. Were the production numbers much larger than the camaro that year or just a coincidence?

GM actually made the 1991 Firebirds for about a year and a half. It is the 1990 models that are rarer because of lower production numbers. Camaro production numbers greatly exceeded Firebirds for any year in the 3rd gen range.

2 things to look for are in 91 i think they changed the throttle cable and got rid of the cold start injector. If your are just porting the plenum everything should move over without problems and use your old tb.
