Edlebrock TPI setup, should I buy?
Hey Guys, I have been reading what people have had to say about the Edlebrock High Flo intakes and runners. So far everything sounds pretty positive. I just wanted to get some opinions on something really quick. I have the chance to buy the following combo to put on my IROC. All parts are used and in good condition. Ed. High-Flow base plate, Ed. runners, stock plenum ported for 52mm TB, stock fuel rail with Accel AFPR, stock injectors (dont know what size yet, I think they are 22lb), bolts, gaskets, etc. I have included 2 pics of it. I am going to go look at it this weekend. The guy is asking $450. What do you think?

Jump on it! I'm sure you're aware that new, the Edelbrock setup is about twice that, not to mention all the time spent porting, etc.

Get it ...I payed double that for just the base and runners. Here is mine. I ported it in about 4" to make it breath up around the 5500 rpm range hopefully. The LTR setup is a good streetsetup . Good hard launches

Check to make sure the runners aren't warped. It makes it harder to get them sealed. Once sealed they should "unwarp" back to normal after some driving at normal operating temps.
Do not under any circumstances reuse the bottom runner gaskets!!!!!! They are a one time only "crush to fit" gasket set. There are extra gaskets included in a new pack so be sure to use the correct gaskets for the runners you are using, otherwise you will experience a major vacuum leak!
If you have port matched the plenum to the runners, you will need Mr. Gasket large port runners for the top and a new set of Edelbrock gaskets for the bottom. you can get them at Summit. BTW, you will have just kissed $60 goodbye when you order them.
Also, my car pulls hard to 5500rpm without ported runners, albeit the plenum is "port matched" to the runners.... If anyone is running a similar setup to mine (cam & head wise) and it made a big difference in how hard you run, please let me know!!!!!

I went and looked at it today, it looked clean, the plenum was not ported very much, just enlarged at the front for the 52mm TB he was running and the holes had been enlarged a little to match the runners. I payed for it this afternoon and will pick it up tomorrow. The injectors looked pretty good but they are stockers so I may re-sell them because when I build up my engine I will probably run 24's or 28's but thats long in to the future. Thank you for all the info guys!

I am running very close to your setup ...except for bigger headers ....and less head . LOL Stockers (083) rebuilt ... The stock injectors will do the job for ya , I had mine psyonically cleaned then flow matched... I will have a dyno sheet for ya this comeing spring.
Sorry , didn;t mean to hyjack at all . Here is a picture of my plenum being opened up. Just be the plate on there you can see how much smaller stock was . This was matched to the bigger gaskets ...Mr.Gasket P/N146
