hard starting, dies when i stop
So my car is acting up again. Sometimes the car feels like not starting and the only way to start it is to hit the gas a little. Now the car also stalls when i come to a stop and put the clutch in. Does this sound like it could be a problem with the IAC valve? Or maybe an alternator problem because i notice the volts drop when the car is idels but its not too drastic.

Your pcv is stuck closed allowing your turbo to pressurize your crankcase enough to stall your motor...
Would help if you told us what we are trying to diagnose huh? (and more symptoms and any diag you've done)
edit: Fat fingers punch pvc. Thanks Tommy.

Could possibly be your fuel pump mine did the same thing. next time your on the freeway kick it out of gear foot off the gas see if it dies. that was solved in my case with a new fuel pump off course a few days later it went completely out

My pvc valve works fine and i dont have a turbo on my car. I tested the fuel pressure and its perfect. I decided to check my air filter and i found a plastic bag blocking the air. I cant believe my car still ran. It also ruined my k&n filter because the suction made the walls of the filter collapse. I havent experienced any stalling, but my car still has a hard time starting when its hot. The car cranks but doesn't want to turn over unless i step on the gas pedel a little bit. I dont have to floor it but i just have to press it a little and it turns over right away. This is fuel injected engine so why would that make it start?

Facetious
Main Entry: fa·ce·tious
Pronunciation: f&-'sE-sh&s
Function: adjective
Etymology: Middle French facetieux, from facetie jest, from Latin facetia
1 : joking or jesting often inappropriately : WAGGISH <just being facetious>
2 : meant to be humorous or funny : not serious <a facetious remark>
That one apparently went right over your head.

1. You apparently can't read well.
2. You don't comprehend what little you can sound out.
3. You can't work on a car.
4. You apparently expect me to help you like you are entitled to it.
5. You are impatient, don't want to pay a mechanic, and are looking for a freebie, and have a fit when you can't get it.
You should have stopped and whacked yourself in the head and asked 'Gee I wonder why no one is answering my questions, they can't smell me...can they?'.
You likely should have re-read your own damn thread before posting that sarcastic horseshat.
And just so you can learn something today, my first response is actually a correct -possible- diagnosis for a turbo car. You've told us you don't have one. Maybe you'd like to tell everyone else now what exactly this poor car is that had it's air filter wrapped in a plastic bag. I hear that's a popular suicide method.
You're not related to Platinum/Kidrcth/Therckid are you?

Tool.

Your probably going to write about this thread in your diary tonight before you get your *** torn open by boyfriend. You should change your name to red tampon because i think thats a better fit.

Damn Devil, that -was- a tad harsh. I mean yea, he deserved something, but...
brian, you really need to step back and ask yourself why you felt the need to call somoene out like that dude. Really, everyone here is here to help, I hope, but you can't expect anyone to cater to you hand and foot.
As for your answer, look a few threads down, Devil suggested MAF relays for something similar in a MAF car. Maybe you might want to start there since you say everything checks out.

 A tad harsh? maybe. It struck me the wrong way, particularly since he called me out. Sounds like he's used to 'getting his' every first week of the month.
I hate people who always feel they are entitled to something from someone. It's one of the biggest problems in this country now. No sense of responsibility goes hand in hand with it. Most others would agree. I don't feel there is any place for it on here, and with particularity when it involves me.
Brian, get a dictionary and try and come up with something original, or at least something that surpasses a second grade recess name calling. That was weak. If you are going to call someone out, make sure you have the tools to actually do something.
Oh yes, and maybe next time read through the FAQ and a few threads. You should really begin by pulling your damn codes to see if you have anything there, and then read the tech articles where SURPRISE there is an article that tells you how to set idle air and tps. Wow, who would have thought to help themselves! And then maybe you can start looking at those relays too... if we're talking about a MAF turdgen. I still don't see more info posted.

He asked a question, obviously he is a newbie. I didn't know that being ingnorant about car mechanics automatically makes a person an idiot and not worth anybodies time or gratitude...
Brian,
Try reposting on the Tech/General engine boards and please try to explain alittle more of your problem.

Thanks Chrome. I am going to try a couple more tests so that i have some more data to work with. I know that a sensor is probably out of wack because of the bad gas millege. I did take it to a mechanic and they said that my problem was bad injectors and a sticky throttle body. I replaced both of those along with a fuel regulator and I still am only getting aroung 12mpg.

Fine, that's fair, water under the bridge.
Now pull your codes to see what you have and check the tech article I listed for iac and tps and then check your maf relays.

To the other guy's point, being mechanically-challenged doesn't mean you're stupid. Being unable to connect that need with an attainable result, eg. buying a detailed repair manual, very much does mean you're a few cans short of a 6-pack.
Trashing one of the better helper-outer guys here like Red means you're also lacking the plastic thingy to hold what's left of the 6-pack together.

Aww, gee Kev, that's nice. I'm a helper-outer guy. I was always told I'm just the resident wise-***.
Does this mean you like me now?
