Back firing with blue flame
I have a 1990 TPI motor that back fired a couple days ago. I was in third gear and getting ready to shift into 4th when the car back fired, at the same time a blue flame came out of the tail pipe. Since then my car seems to be luggish when you give it gas and looses horse power. Almost like you have lost a spark in on of the cyclinders.
I've recently had my rockers changed to roller tip ones. I was told that this issue could be related to a value not closing or opening properly. Any truth to this?
Any help with this issue would be greatly appreiciated.
Thanks, Bobby

If your valves are too tight you'll be dumping fuel into the exhaust which could explain your backfire. Adjust the valves with the engine running if you didnt before and Let us know how it goes.

Sorry I just couldn't resist, Larry.
