i like functionality. i have an 89 formula with the powerbulge hood, 305 TPI. I have a screen over the opening in the hood, but i want to make it functional for air intake. is there no way possible to do this??? just curious. i'd love to have it funtional though. although, it doesn't hurt to have it there cooling the engine a bit. any info would be appreciated.

I was thinkin the same thing with when I had my
firebird (sold it). I was thinkin of like doin it like some of the cowl induction hoods. At higher speeds the air will deflect off the windshield and into the hood scoop. I dont know of a way to set it up, but I was thinkin something like that.

My personal Opinion would be to keep the screen there to allow air to come out only since these cars lack ventilation.
Go to the auto parts and get you some 3 or 4 inch flexible air intake tubing. Im not sure if tubing is the proper terminology at the moment. I used 4 inch and wrapped it with electrical tape and routed it out side the engine compartment towards the fender and also replaced the paper filter with a K&N free flowing filter and it all functions with not too much hastle.

Hehe.. friend sent me the link.. so really didnt notice what board it was in. But still could be done.. thinkin of a camaro type intake setup upside down, or some way to open the top of the canister filter and seal it to the plate in the corner if you have a bird. Get a little creative.

that's what i'm thinking. but i'm not all too creative when it comes to fabricating things. but i suppose if i did something to the underside of the hood similar to yours, i may be able to make it work. anyone else have any other ideas? i'm open to suggestion on this one.
