i seen this mentioned on a post a while back and wondered what differnece this would make to the engine. on my engine i think it is either mounted under the plenum going into the air intake or it is at the back of the plenum. i know the air in the plenum is hotter than the air box. does anyone have any thought on how much of an improvement this makes? will the engine use more fuel or less fuel? just some need to know questions. AND PLEASE DO NOT START POSTING ANY QUESTIONS THAT DO NOT RELATE TO THIS. I really want to stay on this topic. thanks.

well I see your cars an 85 so it will be using the MAF set up so you will see little to no change. This mod is mainly for the speed density cars because they base thier calculations off of the air temp more so than the maf cars do. I will probably do it when I put my HSR on my car just because I need the port that its supposed to go in for a vacuum source but thats about the only reason I can see doing it on a maf car.

I don't know about all that but I noticed a big difference in hot weather.Since I located it up front it doesn't seem to bog down when I try to merge into traffic on hot daysOriginally posted by meridius

I didn't get any measurable gain either, but I've noticed that starting in cooler weather after heat soak and tip-in hesitation were slightly improved. I mainly did it to help analyze a potentially failing IAT/MAT on my car, and can swap plugs to compare the two in seconds.
