Fuel Injectors
Today, I wanted to buy a fuel injector for my 1991 Camaro Z28 TPI. BUt the auto part stores had a fuel injector for the same 5.0 motor my Z28 has, but why is it listed as "multi-port" when it should be "tuned port injection". I ended ordering the fuel injector from the dealer.

Those were the right injectors. "Tuned Port" is a GM trade kind of name for their multi-port injection systems......

If you're trying to keep it as original as possible, why didn't you just go to the dealership to stay with GM only parts?

I understand, but to the tune of $125-$150 per injector when a full set of 8 replacement LS1 or SVO or Holley injectors can be had for around the price of 2 of the ones you ordered from the dealer? Thats a pretty steep desire to remain "stock" IMO!
Good Luck with them!!!!

I agree with vernw, the cost of new ones would be astronomical. Better off buying used stock injectors and sending them off to be cleaned, etc.
