Performance for tpi on small budget * inspection legal :)*

hey guys i got a 1987, im an automotive student and wanna juice it up before it goes on the road
350ci tpi with a t 5 conversion
stock and idles like **** when cold probly iac * hehe ill buy one of those later haha*
id like to get an emmisions legal combo,
for about 2k, intake and minor heads i want about 320- 350 hp or so
i believe the stock is rated at 215 330 ft pnds so, i dont think it would take much, maybe a cold air, edlebrock base slp runners and ported the hell out of the plenum/runners like in that other post with those insanely ported slpr's hehe

get back to me THANKS

Car: 1987 IROC-Z Camaro
Engine: 5.7 350 TPI - SLP Runners, AFPR, MSD Goodies
Transmission: 700R4 - Shift Kit, Corvette Servo
Axle/Gears: BW 9 bolt, 3.27s
Vortec heads, votec tpi base, slp runners ported to match your plenum, some 1.6 RR to help the lift on the cam, and headers and exhaust should be good for about 270 hp. If you got a different cam 320 wouldnt be impossible.

Heads - Check
Vortec* Base - Check
Ported SLP Runners - Check
Ported Plenum - Check
58mm TB - No
SLP Headers - Check
Decent Catback - Check

These alone are worth 280 at the wheels. Or if you don't feel going the vortec route, a stall converter around 2800 would compensate off the line.

58MM isnt needed until like some crazy HP like 450-500. And by then....lets just say stock is fine.

If you let in too much air, only for it to find a restriction further down the line, turbulence is created and velocity takes a dump.
