Quick,Someone Go To Their Car And....
Someone go start their TPI car, get out a stethoscope(or any metal pipe or whatever) Touch it to the metal fuel lines by the alternator and tell me if you hear a "knock knock knock knock" sound, thats gets faster when you give it throttle. Mine is doing it, and for the past week Ive been worried I wiped out a bearing or lifter. Go Go!

I can cleary hear the fuel injectors "chatter" I can clearly hear a "Knocking" from the fuel lines. Its most noticable from inside the car. I searched the site and found one other person that claimed to have the same noise, but no solution

There is a slight ticking in my lines from the injectors where the line connects to the fuel rail, but defantly not a knock. Are you sure that it's not coming from under the car instead of in the engine bay? The sound would travel pretty well through hollow tube.

The only thing I can think of is that the diaphram in the pulsator valve is torn. Put a fuel pressure gage on it, and start it, if the needle jitters then that could be the problem.

I do not belive its piston slap or a rod knock. Its too fast and very faint. The only part on the car that I could find making these noise were the fuel lines. When the engines under 200degrees you realy have to listen for it, but its there. If my car idles to 220 when the fans come on, its kinda loud. Not as loud as a rod knock though, and twice the speed. Or is this how TPI normaly is?

My car has this exact sound....it sounds exactly like a "knock" except it is very distinct inside the car and not outside...I too have felt that the return fuel line is the culprit...somewhere its touching the body and what you hear is just that...the pulsing fuel in the return line....I have had my car since 96 and it has been doing it since then...i returned it to the dealer and this is what they told me...But i have been lucky...yours may be something else ...but it sounds very similar...good luck. GTA....
