adjust throttle body
How do I adjust the throttle body to idle higher? IN my beretta i could just adjust the screw but behind the screw in my 2.8 it's flat metal..i know this has to be possible....Mine idle's a little too low..and this kid my dad knows has a firebird that idle's WAY too high.

My first response is to tell you to find out why they are doing this.
After that I'd suggest at a minimum a repair manual before you go adjusting screws that are sealed from the factory.

repair manual? I have them. I searched it and every one seems to be adjusting theirs on here. I'm sure it's a vacuum problem but will not be able to tackle this untill thanksgiving..Meanwhile my car dies at stop signs and the like.
Before adjusting anything:
- Be sure the throttle body is clean;
- Check all vacuum hoses for damage;
- Make sure the IAC and its air passages are clean, and the IAC pintle is able to move along its rack gears. You can search the archives here to find instructions detailing the cleaning, lubrication, and installation of the IAC;
- Another item that is critical to closed throttle air flow is the PCV valve. These valves actually have a calibrated pintle and springs to assure proper air flow under varying vacuum conditions.
