idle surge problem.
first let me say that I have removed the screens from the Maf.
every once in a while I get a surge from my car where the idle jumps up for a slight period of time and the check engine comes on. It never leaves a code.
This basically happens when it is cold outside but I cannot put my finger on it.
My tps is a .54 the IAC is new the temp sensor is new, injectors-new, o2 sensor new
Let me know Thanks

if your light comes on sometimes you should get a code, it will log a code you just gotta find a OBD1 or ground out the ALDL wait for the codes to flash.
Pulling of the screens can cause problems if your not lucky. you'll see that most people say not to remove them. with the removel of the screens it's recommanded to adjust your MAF tables in your chip. For know i'd unplg your battery to clear all codes and just drive it again, when it comes on try to figure out what code it is.
bad MAF can cause a problem like a surge ..
when you replaced the IAC did you do the correct calibration on it and did you clean out the Throttle body and what not?

for some odd reason sometimes when i ground my obd connector I do not get flashing code not even 12 I get a constant light. I use a striped wire and not a paper clip so that might be a problem.
I think that I am going to redo my iac adjustment and I think I forgot to put the gasket on the IAC when I replaced it but I do not think that makes much difference because It threads in

double check make sure you are using the correct pins. The IAC personally i would be nervous with out a gasket unless you put thread sealer on the threads. test it with some gum cutter.

a and b top left most holes. the one all the way to the right is a ground and the one next to it is the 5v source.
you really think that air could be escaping past all those threads.

On your ALDL try grounding the 5v pin to another (known good) ground. I've heard that the pin ground can go bad, although I've never experienced this.

dude this car is my life right now. I want to travel the us canada mexico and europe. Installing dual battery setup to power laptop gps amp and sub. I have a lot of work to do
You know what I can not think of anything I would rather be doing.
Blew off the family for the holidays. They never really gave a $hit anyway. Its time for me to do what I want to without outside influence.
